Tourist Traps! From Manhattan’s Times Square to the Hollywood Sign to Mount Rushmore, tourists travel in droves for new experiences and lasting memories. Some tourist traps are traveled to on foot, by car, on a train or plane. Others are revisited again and again via memory, a keepsake, a gift. And, for many folk, the destination is simply a pipe dream.
Six playwrights were selected to use the tourist trap as a springboard to write a spanking new 10-minute play. The stakes were raised by assigning each playwright two actors from our acting pool who must appear in their play. The pool of 12 diverse actors were offered to round out the casts.
